3rd Blog Post.....enjoy Ingram...
1) I am writing about having sex before marriage so my audience would be those who have not had sex but more specifically teenagers/adolescents in highschool/college.
I feel that my topic is timely because "sex" is very appealing to younger individuals present day. I mean "sex sells". Because of the fact that "everyone" is doing it and that it's in our faces everyday does it mean its healthy? It is natural...
I am invested in this topic because I had little knowledge of the specifics. I want to know as much about the pros and cons as I can but I need to decide which side I'm leaning toward. I think high school teachers instructed us to write the way they did because that's what they were told. I do not think that's the way they wanted to instruct us. I think college teachers care because they know that to be successful in the writing of your specific major you need to be able to "read as a writer" and reflect on your writing.
2) Yes, my viewpoints consist of:
-Negative, possible risk of STD and unwanted pregnancy
- Neutral, no psychological evidence between having sex and depression
-Positive, waiting till marriage can reduce your chance of an unwanted pregnancy and contracting STD's
.....Idk why I decide to break my sources down like this.
3) One interesting thing I have found this week is that most times it is not the fact that an individual is having sex with multiple partners that causes depression yet its that individuals surrounding circumstances. So the circumstances cause the uncontrolled sexual acts.
4) I have been glued to Shanice Hookers blogger!!!!! I love her topic regarding "popping pills". We were both struggling with having to pick a side for our paper.
I think My question: Will it be okay if I
decided to focus on prescription drug abuse and how it’s easily prescribed
despite the dangerous side effects? is a very relevant question. I feel like that would be interesting to dig deep into because tons of Americans take multiple pills everyday.
