Last Blog Post!!
haha...that picture is funny to me...
How was "Blogging"?
-When Ms. Ingram introduced the assignment of "blogging" I was not sure what her intentions were. I now have a better understanding of why she choose "blogging" over "free-writing". Blogging allows for better connectivity. This means that if I'm confused about my research question and Sally from Ms. Ingram's 9:30 M/W class is doing a similar topic I can go to her blog and see how she is approaching it.
Research -____-
-The research process is very tedious. Researching takes time and multiple word combinations in the search engine. When the research process started I was very frustrated because I thought my topic was going to generate more than enough information for me to use in my paper, but I struggled to find sources. I soon developed a process that proved to be successful for me and then I was able to find sources. I think some people enjoy research because they love discovery. They are driven by what they do not know and what they want to discover. I never liked playing hide-an-go seek when I was little...haha
My Question...
-My initial inquiry question was "Is pre marital sex healthy?". This question was too difficult when it came to finding related sources. So I have decided to change my question to "Is sex healthy". This allows me better options for our next paper dealing with three different point of views.

3/4 Complete!!!
3rd Blog Post.....enjoy Ingram...
1) I am writing about having sex before marriage so my audience would be those who have not had sex but more specifically teenagers/adolescents in highschool/college.
I feel that my topic is timely because "sex" is very appealing to younger individuals present day. I mean "sex sells". Because of the fact that "everyone" is doing it and that it's in our faces everyday does it mean its healthy? It is natural...
I am invested in this topic because I had little knowledge of the specifics. I want to know as much about the pros and cons as I can but I need to decide which side I'm leaning toward. I think high school teachers instructed us to write the way they did because that's what they were told. I do not think that's the way they wanted to instruct us. I think college teachers care because they know that to be successful in the writing of your specific major you need to be able to "read as a writer" and reflect on your writing.
2) Yes, my viewpoints consist of:
-Negative, possible risk of STD and unwanted pregnancy
- Neutral, no psychological evidence between having sex and depression
-Positive, waiting till marriage can reduce your chance of an unwanted pregnancy and contracting STD's
.....Idk why I decide to break my sources down like this.
3) One interesting thing I have found this week is that most times it is not the fact that an individual is having sex with multiple partners that causes depression yet its that individuals surrounding circumstances. So the circumstances cause the uncontrolled sexual acts.
4) I have been glued to Shanice Hookers blogger!!!!! I love her topic regarding "popping pills". We were both struggling with having to pick a side for our paper.
I think My question: Will it be okay if I decided to focus on prescription drug abuse and how it’s easily prescribed despite the dangerous side effects? is a very relevant question. I feel like that would be interesting to dig deep into because tons of Americans take multiple pills everyday.

Second Blog Post
- The most interesting source I've found so far talks about sexual hookups among college students. I've already done an annotated bib for this source so I will use that...

Men and Woman have always differed when
it comes to sex but more specifically in sexuality and partner selection. Men
are more focused on the male genitalia and orgasm. In effect they are less
worried about emotional involvement and martial potential. Men focus a woman’s
physical appearance while woman are more focused on the males socioeconomic
status. Socioeconomic status is similar to that situation in high school were
the cheerleader dates the football star. Though in some environments this does
not happen depending on the female’s dependence on the male. While past studies
have shown a correlation between hookups and depression in females this recent
study shows no connection between permissive sex and psychological distress. Please let me know how/if I can improve this!
( -Surprisingly as I have been researching my question has not changed. I have been able to find multiple sources I think pertain to my question.
--Challenges I have been facing in this research process continue to be finding those periodicals that go with my question. Though I have started using the "search topic" option. This is where they list all the topics a periodical is under. This has helped me tremendously.

English 1102- 1st Blog
Is it "healthly" to have premarital sex?
- I settled on this question because I can relate to it and I'm surrounded by it everyday when interacting with my peers. I wanna dig deeper into the Pros and Cons of this question; the reasons why it may or may not be a problem.
-Others should care about this question because there are serious risk to having premarital sex but their are also some benefits. The benefits I am brainstorming right now are "stress reliever", emotional and possibly *acceptance*(though this is more negative than positive)
-In my research I expect to find more information about sexually transmitted diseases and the psychology of sex and how it affects emotions/mood.
-I am generating a lot of scholarly reviews about sexually transmitted diseases and how deadly they can be but I'm hoping the library can help me find more sources dealing with the psychology of sex on an individuals emotions.
